Amazon, which has come up with new news, has launched its “Smart Stores” service in India.

Aiming to move local shops to the digital world with the smart stores initiative, Amazon will enable local vendors to keep digital inventory records thanks to the software it will offer. Thanks to the software, QR codes will be defined for the products to be registered.

Users entering physical stores can read these QR codes with Amazon’s mobile app to see all the products, discounts, and reviews of that seller. The products selected with the application can be paid with Amazon Pay.

Serving for many payment services in India, Amazon Pay also works with UPI and various credit cards, which are very popular in India. The project in question has been tested in pilot areas for about two months. According to the information shared by Amazon, “Smart Stores” project has already reached more than 10 thousand offline stores. Let’s add that there are big supermarkets in India such as Big Bazaar and MedPlus among these stores.
