Google seems to be implementing a new policy in competition. The tech giant company has teamed up to explore why competing Android apps are preferred over Google apps.
Is Google abusing its authority?
In fact, this work is part of a program called Android Lockbox. With Android Lockbox, the number of Google employees who can access sensitive data of Android applications produced outside of Google is increasing.
Accordingly, Google teams that will develop “competing applications” will have access to user data, usage patterns and other statistical data of other applications in the market.
So how ethical is this? Using Google’s dominant position, it seems that the rivals in the market will use commercial secret data to develop applications that will harm their competitors.
It is emphasized that Google will develop Shorts, which will be a competitor to TikTok for the first time with this project.
The US courts may not sound this for now, but things will be destroyed in Europe.
