The United States is taking the worries experienced after the suspicion of hackers involved in the 2016 elections to a new level.
According to the US security forces, not only digital election machines, but election officers who will serve in the elections are the target of hackers.
Hackers can reach officers as they wish
In a study of election officers’ digital devices, it was understood that many election officers lacked basic digital security awareness and security measures. In particular, election officials, who are very unconscious about pishing attacks based on fooling their identity and financial information by deceiving users, have become the biggest concern center for election security in the USA.
According to the research, only half of 10 thousand election officers have security consciousness, while others live completely at the mercy of hackers. This reveals the possibilities of hackers to intervene in election results in different ways.
The U.S. will now train election officials so that they can take adequate security measures.
