SpaceX’s satellite operations are now entrusted to Microsoft’s cloud services.
Is it easy to manage tens of thousands of satellites?
The two companies decided to work together for cloud services that will be required in space studies. Accordingly, Microsoft will establish the necessary infrastructure and provide services for the cloud services required by SpaceX’s satellite services.
Elon Musk’s spaceship company will also need very intensive processing power for operations such as the control of tens of thousands of satellites it will launch into space and route calculations. With its new system called Azure Orbital Emulator, Microsoft will also provide SpaceX with a digital control interface that will instantly calculate where tens of thousands of satellites are at any moment and the status of the others if one of them changes route.
