Slack CEO Stewart spoke ambitiously
The coronavirus made it necessary to work remotely in the education and business world. During this period, the demand for messaging and meeting platforms focused on business and education increased significantly.
One of the shining stars of this period was undoubtedly Microsoft Teams. Reaching 32 million daily users in March, Microsoft Teams increased this number by 134 percent and reached 75 million in April.
This rise experienced by Microsoft Teams caused competition with Slack. But Butterfield, Slack CEO, made quite ambitious and striking statements. Butterfield said that as far as they’ve seen in the last few months, Microsoft Teams are not their rivals. Butterfield stated that there are 258 million Office 65 users and less than 30 percent of these users use Microsoft Teams.
Slack has not announced the total number of users over the past few months but has announced that the number of daily active users has been broken in the shared data several times and 12.5 million concurrent users have been reached.
