US came up with allegations of data theft
As data has become today’s most valuable resource, data theft incidents are on the rise. Especially China, North Korea and Russia are among the leading countries in this regard. However, this time, news of data theft started to come from the USA.
In the documents shared by The Wall Street, it was stated that the initiative named Anomaly Six LLC, which was stated to have a relationship with the US Department of Defense, committed data theft. It was stated that this initiative collected data from applications and shared this data with the ministry.
Also, according to the documentation, Anomaly Six LLC signed a special agreement with 500 developers and embedded a special tracking code into their apps. It was stated that this code, which was added in secret from the users, collects user data and Anomaly Six LLC sells this data to the ministry.
In fact, this model, which is expected to receive a great reaction, is claimed to be legal. Anonymous collection of user data can prevent Anomaly Six LLC from getting a major penalty. Anomaly Six LLC has made no statements to refute these allegations. However, which applications contain tracking code is still unclear.
