Japanese technology giant Toshiba stops producing laptops. The company has officially announced that it is leaving the laptop business.
No more Toshiba laptops
Toshiba’s laptop production was acquired by Sharp, also the Japanese technology giant. Sharp will continue to produce laptops through Toshiba infrastructure.
It turned out that Toshiba was quietly selling Sharp with its last remaining 19.9% stake in the Dynabook laptop brand. The importance of this sale is that Toshiba will no longer produce laptops, because Toshiba was one of the first companies in the world to produce laptops.
The exit of a company that manufactured a laptop from the market in 1985 is considered a sign that the players in the sector have radically changed.
