Vivo announced the new smartphone interface Origin OS, which is likely to be used in its new generation smartphones. The new interface promises to provide users a much more dynamic and ‘square’ experience.
Chinese smartphone maker Vivo officially announced Origin OS, its latest smartphone interface, during the ongoing developer conference. Promising users an experience between iOS, Windows and Android, Origin OS is perfect for users who want a full, dynamic home screen rather than a blank home screen.
According to the statements made by Vivo, Origin OS fills the home screen with large square widgets and small square app icons, just like the widget feature of iOS 14. These dynamic widgets offer to change and updated information just like Windows’ live tiles.
6 features of Vivo Origin OS
- Klotski settlement
- Nano notifications
- Navigation gestures
- Funtouch OS migration
- Origin OS card packages
- “Real-world” wallpapers
Klotski settlement refers to the arrangement of application icons and widgets in an order similar to Klotski findings, as we explained above. Nano notifications, on the other hand, consist of displaying application notifications on these icons and widgets.
Navigation gestures have been popular in our lives since the iPhone X was introduced, but it is hard to say that it is very popular among Android users. Navigation gestures feature in Origin OS allows users to define navigation gestures in 26 different combinations. In this way, users can decide for themselves what will happen when they swipe up and what will happen when they swipe right / left.
The Funtouch OS migration, as the name suggests, allows users to easily switch between the Origin OS interface and the Funtouch OS interface. However, we do not know exactly how this possibility of migration will affect performance and storage space. Origin OS card packages feature allows payment options to be saved on the device and accessed by sliding from the bottom right of the screen whenever desired.
As we mentioned at the beginning of our report, Origin OS promises a dynamic user interface. In this context, you can choose “real world” wallpapers, wallpapers that change according to the weather and show dynamic effects related to the weather. You can also use day and night themed wallpapers that get darker as it gets dark and that shine at the brightest hour of the day.
Vivo did not share information about usability, perhaps the most important information about the smartphone interface. Therefore, we do not have information about which smartphones will support Origin OS and when it will be available all over the world. More information is expected to be shared on this subject in the future.
