An application in the beta phase. The tool that has been used by a group of vendors since the end of 2019 within the framework of the Beta test group can now be used by Brand Registry, that is, the vendors included in the brand registration program. You can check whether you can use the Bundle tool here.
What does it do?
Amazon describes what the vehicle does:
“The Bundle Tool for FBA allows brand owners to create virtual ‘bundles’ of 2 to 5 complementary products and sell them on a single product page. The feature helps brand owners sell products that are physically packed together in the FBA warehouses. ”
For example, you sell wooden bowls in one of the ASINs under your brand and wooden spoons in another. The tool allows you to create a separate ASIN consisting of these two products. If a user enters and purchases this new ASIN page, Amazon combines these two products in your inventory in FBA repositories, and sends them to the customer. If you previously wanted to sell your two products in a package, you had to physically pack them together and send them to the warehouses on a separate list.
Why Amazon Does It
Let’s talk about its advantages first. First of all, as mentioned above, you can sell your products in bundles by sending them separately to Amazon warehouses without having to bundle and pack your products from the front. You do not need to use a different UPC while doing this.
You can sell the products together without waiting for them to enter the ‘frequently bought together’ section. When a product is made part of a virtual bundle, this bundle appears on the product page in a visible area just below the main image. In the image below you can see where a bundle created in this way is shown on the product page.
Another advantage is this: If you wanted to sell your multiple products before, you had to create a promotion for this. The section you described on the product page was a small, hard-to-read place, and was a place for the customer to deal with the codes. With the new application, you can sell multiple products more easily under your brand.
The app is currently visible to users shopping on desktop. Another point to keep in mind is that there is no discount in FBA commissions for the products shipped together (we may think that we will need to lower the sales price of the two products together to make the bundle attractive). Since the Bundle will have a separate product page, the comments written belong to this new page, but in case of return, customers have the right to return the products individually.
We will see in the coming days how this application, which is interesting in all aspects, will bring advantages and disadvantages to the sellers.
