Xiaomi announced a new wireless fast charging technology. This technology, which can support 80 watts, charges a 4,000 mAh battery in just 19 minutes. The company has not made a statement about when this technology will reach consumers.

Chinese technology company Xiaomi has made a remarkable innovation in the smartphone industry. The company announced a new wireless fast charging support technology at an event it organized. Xiaomi’s new technology can fully charge a 4,000 mAh battery in just 19 minutes. The phone can be charged to 50 percent within 8 minutes.

Xiaomi, the fastest wireless charging solution so far, was the 50-watt fast charging support announced on the Mi 10 Ultra. The 4.500 mAh battery of this phone meant a charging time of around 40 minutes when tested by real users. Consequently, the fast charging support with a capacity of 80 watts will be much more remarkable.

Although Xiaomi has announced its new wireless fast charging technology, it has not announced when this technology will become commercial. In other words, it is not yet known when and with which smartphone model this technology will be offered to consumers. However, leading names in the industry argue that 100 watt fast charging support will become a standard by 2021. That’s why Xiaomi’s new fast charging technology is not so surprising.

By the way, although fast charging technologies are impressive, there are still serious problems in this regard. For example, OPPO admitted that its 125-watt fast-charging phones have dropped to 80 percent battery capacity after 800 battery charging cycles. However, nothing can be done about the solution of this issue for now. Time will tell how technology companies will solve the problem of worn out batteries.
